Agora
AGORA
Our Mission+

We think politics has become obsessed with what people believe: are they left-wing or right-wing? As a result, social media rewards the loudest voices, the strongest emotions, and the most polarising takes, not necessarily the best thinking.

We believe the more important question is how people arrive at their beliefs.

That's why we built Agora.

Agora turns the biggest news story of the day into a game. Instead of rewarding outrage or tribalism, it rewards reasoning. Every day, you play through a major news story, think through the evidence, challenge different perspectives, and compete against your friends or the wider Agora community.

You don't win by choosing the "correct" political side. You win by reasoning better.

Our mission is simple: bring reason back into politics!

Our Team+

Zach Glasser

Zach worked as a political analyst before starting to train in tech data and privacy law. He left law to build Agora after seeing in both roles that everyone measured opinions, but nobody measured reasoning.

Christian Halstead

Christian founded the Both Sides News account across Instagram and TikTok. After seeing and reporting on political debates online, he saw the need for a platform that rewards better reasoning instead of louder opinions.

Jack Hodges

Jack is an aerospace systems engineer with a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering. He built complex intelligence and defence systems and now leads Agora's engineering and reasoning models.

How does scoring work?+

Agora measures your reasoning through its reasoning chips — the more you have, the higher your score. The games are designed to test 5 things based off our research: accuracy, calibration, consistency, updating, and evidence engagement. Click here to see our research in full.
